Priscilla Lawson died at the young age of 44 from a bleeding ulcer. For many years fans believed she had lost a leg while she was serving in the Women’s Army Corps during World War 2.  Years after her death her Flash Gordon co-star Jean Rogers may have helped spread this story through interviews.
