The Hellbound Heart by Clive Barker
So, I read the inspiration for the original Hellraiser film the other night, “The Hellbound Heart” by Clive Barker. The occult nature of the novella resonates on a different level than the film and creates a unique alternate to the original film.
Being a big fan of the first two films of the series and someone who does not endorse remakes of films - I’m beginning to think if explored differently a remake could really make this sinister world stand apart from anything we have already witnessed.
Read the book - it’s worth it.
